It’s a bit of a heartbreak this year; one child gone to college. It makes us appreciate the two we have — who are getting along SO MUCH better than they did when there were three — more, and it makes them appreciate us, I think. My darling middle one has been checking in with me and her father more — “are you sad?” — just as our youngest hits her TEENAGE stride and cannot do anything but roll her eyes every single time we talk …

Our son is at a pretty close college, and we are able to see him almost every weekend, so that is a huge win — but we are also aware that he will go out into the world very, very far starting at the end of his college career. So wonderful while also poignant and heartbreak (a tiny bit — future heartbreak!).

My job has been growing more and more all encompassing — but working on really interesting stuff.
